Day 1: Arrival in Florence Our journey begins in Florence, the capital of Tuscany and a city steeped in Renaissance art and architecture. After settling into our charming bed-and-breakfast near the historic center, we strolled along the cobbled streets to the iconic Florence Cathedral, marveling at its striking dome designed by Brunelleschi.
Day 2: Florence Highlights Today was all about exploring Florence’s artistic treasures. We visited the Uffizi Gallery, home to masterpieces by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo. The Ponte Vecchio bridge, lined with jewelry shops, offered breathtaking views of the Arno River. We ended the day with a sunset walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo, where we enjoyed panoramic views of Florence.
Day 3: Siena and San Gimignano A scenic drive through the rolling hills of Chianti brought us to Siena, famous for its medieval brick buildings and the spectacular Piazza del Campo, where the Palio horse race takes place. After lunch in a traditional trattoria, we headed to San Gimignano, a hilltop town known for its medieval towers that offer stunning views of the Tuscan countryside.
Day 4: Tuscan Countryside Today, we immersed ourselves in the serene beauty of the Tuscan countryside. We visited a local winery in the Chianti region, where we learned about traditional winemaking techniques and sampled some of the finest Chianti Classico wines. Later, we explored the town of Greve, known for its charming piazza and artisanal shops.
Day 5: Pisa and Lucca On our final day, we took a day trip to Pisa to marvel at the iconic Leaning Tower in Piazza dei Miracoli.
